How to Enable 2FA for Coinbase

Add an extra layer of security to your Coinbase account by switching from SMS verification to an authenticator app — it is significantly more secure against SIM-swap attacks.

1. Sign in to Coinbase and go to Settings → Security.
2. Under 2-step verification, select Authenticator app.
3. Confirm the change with your current verification method.
4. Scan the displayed QR code with Authenticator App.
5. Enter the 6-digit code to complete the setup.
